Paper Dreams, Interview with Greenwich Letterpress NY, Spaces 2008

Greenwich LetterPress is a unique paper goods store owned and run by sisters Amy Salvini-Swanson and Beth Salvini. Their shop specialises in the age- old craft of letterpress – a term which refers to movable type where the type is inked and pushed into the paper leaving a lasting impression.

Small and unimposing, unlike the usual tube-lit stationary chains, the enchanting shop is decidedly stitched into the fabric of the residential area it is situated within. Its small but spacious windows are crammed full of colourful paper delicacies; cards, gift tags, name places and invitations, breathtakingly illustrated and lovingly adorned onto the highest quality paper. It reads like a charming opening scene of a hollywood ‘rom-com’, one can almost hear the music begin…
